RICS Draft UK Guidance Note - Valuation of properties in multi-storey, multi-occupancy residential buildings with cladding, 1st edition

RICS is consulting on proposed guidance on the valuation of multi-storey, multi-occupancy buildings with cladding. The guidance is aimed at valuers carrying out mortgage valuations on residential properties with cladding, to provide consistency on whether they should request and EWS1 form before proceeding. We are seeking views and evidence from professionals involved in valuing, selling and managing such properties, as well as those giving advice on fire risk and its remediation, to ensure that the criteria are robust and properly reflect current practice. Finalised guidance is expected to be published in February.

On the left-hand side of the screen is a section called Documents. In here you will find the draft Guidance Note which we are seeking comment on. This is available to make comments on section by section, and is also available as a pdf download. Also available for download in this section is a Supplementary Information Paper, which will be published alongside the Guidance Note and gives information for valuers on different types of cladding. We are not specifically seeking comment on this Supplementary Information Paper, but if you would like to give us your feedback, you can do so by emailing Helvi Cranfield hcranfield@rics.org or by answering the final question in the questionnaire, which asks if you have any comments on it. 

There is also a 'Consultation briefing document' in the Documents section, which gives further information on the background of this guidance and consultation.
